This tour offers you the opportunity to visit of the of the key sites in the history of the construction and launch of the greatest liner ever built in Belfast - Titanic, from the luxury of a VIP configured Mercedes MPV. The tour operates all year round & the price includes collection from any location within the greater Belfast area.

The tour is conducted by Susie Millar, the great-granddaughter of Thomas Millar, who worked in Harland & Wolff on the construction of Titanic & then sailed onboard her as an engineer on the fateful maiden voyage to New York in April 1912. His death at the age of 33 left his two young sons orphaned. Tommy's story has been passed down through three generations of the Millar family. Before he left Belfast on board Titanic, he gave both his sons two new pennies, telling them, Don't spend those until I see you again. His younger son kept those pennies all his life. He passed them on to his son who gave them to Susie. The story has been immortalised in plays, poems and songs.

As part of your journey back through the history of the great liner, you will get to visit SS Nomadic, the last surviving vessel of the White Star Line & the tender used to ferry First Class Passengers to Titanic. This is an EXCLUSIVE feature of the tour as SS Nomadic is not open to the public currently.

Whatever your length of stay in Belfast city, you can fit this tour into your itinerary. Pick-up is available from your hotel, cruise ship, B&B, or even if you are staying with friends of family, at a time to suit you. The vehicle seats a maximum of 5 people. It is a Mercedes Viano people carrier, with built-in DVD system, air conditioning, leather seats and privacy glass. Because of Belfast's unpredictable weather, we provide the umbrellas! Bottled water is also included.

Our first stop is the exterior of the home of former shipyard chairman, Lord William Pirrie. This fine Scottish baronial house is set in the suburbs of East Belfast.

Then we cross the city to the home where chief Titanic designer, Thomas Andrews lived with his wife, Helen. Dunallon has a beautiful wrought iron staircase and stained glass window which is said to have been the inspiration for the window in the ballroom on Titanic. The building is now the home of the Irish Football Association and is only open during business hours. There is a chance here to visit the IFA shop.

From here, we enter the Titanic Quarter and learn about the slipways where Olympic and Titanic were built side by side, dominating the Belfast skyline from 1908 onwards. We see the drawing offices where the intricate designs for the ships were prepared and hear about the history of Harland and Wolff shipyard. We also see the huge dry dock built specially for the Olympic-class liners and now referred to as the footprint of Titanic.

Within the Northern Ireland Science Park, we see the Victorian pump house from where the dock was flooded and drained and HMS Caroline, the second oldest commissioned ship in the Royal Navy.

Our tour finishes at Belfast City Hall where we hear about the 22 men from Belfast whose names are engraved on the Titanic Memorial.

An EXCLUSIVE feature of the tour is a visit to the SS Nomadic, Titanic's tender ship, the last surviving White Star Line vessel. You will then be dropped back to your pick up point.
